      How you’ll contribute:
      This position is responsible for performing accounting reconciliations and preparing financial disclosures for the company’s fixed maturity and equity securities investment portfolio. The key responsibilities include participating in the monthly accounting close process and preparing schedules and related disclosures included in the Company’s Form 10Q/Ks and Statutory quarterly and annual filings.

      In this role, you’ll get to:

      • Prepare balance sheet and income statement reconciliations for fixed maturity and equity securities between the general ledger and the data warehouse
      • Review and post journal entries provided by the accounting vendor
      • Responsible for working with the accounting vendor to ensure correct accounting is generated and resolve any discrepancies
      • Prepare investment disclosures in the 10-K, 10-Q, QFS, and stand-alone audited financial statements on a GAAP & Statutory basis
      • Prepare management reporting to support CIO and Earnings Call deliverables
      • Prepare/review the quarterly pricing analysis to ensure that the valuation of is consistent with the company’s stated policy and current accounting standards and guidelines
      • Analyze and validate data from internal and external sources.
      • Review the investment portfolio on a quarterly basis and evaluate for potential impairments on a STAT and GAAP basis and work closely with the members of the Impairment Committee and Asset Managers to determine impairment amounts
      • Proactive in developing new analysis to detect and prevent misstatements in financial results
      • Respond to questions from external and internal auditors, front office and financial reporting teams
      • assist in implement new accounting pronouncements or disclosure requirements
      • Other tasks as needed.

      We’re looking for people who have:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related fields
      • 3+ years of Investment Accounting experience in the insurance or finance industries preferred
      • Knowledge of GAAP & Statutory accounting for Investments preferred
      • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (macros, pivot tables and advanced formulas)
      • Self-motivated and eager to learn with limited guidance
      • Intermediate data management skills
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills
      • Strong analytical thinker with the ability to solve complicated transactions
      • Continuously look for opportunities to improve and innovate processes
      • Experience with financial reporting systems (SAP preferred)
      • Ability to effectively work with professionals across the organization, with diverse backgrounds and experience
