- Research past payroll transactions, carrier payments, and invoices to determine monies owed or needing refund o For participants o For carriers
- Process payroll transactions based on research or present to staff for processing
- Set up self-pay accounts as needed
- Set up collection accounts as needed
- Coordinate with EBO staff, Department of Finance (DOF) staff, and payroll staff
- Lead and participate in reconciliation meetings with carriers and communicate research findings
- Draft procedures for ongoing reconciliations and make recommendations to Department of Personnel Services (DPS) and/or EBO management
- Recommend appropriate process changes and controls to mitigate issues discovered through the reconciliation process
- Perform related duties as assigned
- Experience with COMPASS, an HRIS system powered by SAP
- Experienced with Benefit Bridge, an online benefits enrollment system
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and financial reporting
- Strong background in accounting and auditing, with expertise in financial reconciliation and compliance
- Two years of experience in accounting, with a strong preference for auditing and account reconciliation. Skilled in verifying data accuracy by comparing records with original source documents and cross-checking information across multiple systems to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Bachelor's Degree, or higher, from an accredited college or university in Accounting or Business Administration with a concentration in Accountancy.
- Possession of a valid license as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the State of California Board of Accountancy may substitute for the required bachelor’s degree.
