      Key Purpose

      Producing accurate and timely monthly reporting; ensuring that regulatory reporting requirements are met and supporting business through reporting on financial performance.

      Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

      • Preparation of timely monthly management accounts, journals and supporting working papers for various products and funds on the Discovery Invest platform

      • Preparation of monthly bank, clearing and ledger reconciliations

      • Prepare semi-annual statutory reports

      • Ensure fund/product accounting entries are prepared and posted

      • Ensure all ledger account balances are correct and can be verified

      • Ensure income/expenses accrued on product level are accounted for on operational ledger

      • Liaising with Finance Control and other departments for information

      • Resolving queries on the ledger and/or bank statements

      • Direct support to Finance Manager

      • Enhancing existing procedures & processes

      • Liaising with internal & external audit

      • Invoicing where applicable and considering invoices and charges received for reasonability

      • Strong accounting background

      • Attention to detail

      • Ability to work independently

      • Highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative

      • Ability to manage deadlines and plan, organise and control work-flow

      • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

      Education and Experience

      • B Comm Accounting or Diploma in Financial Accounting

      • 3+ years financial accounting experience (Advantageous - Investment Management/Pension Funds industry experience)

      • MS Excel – Intermediate to advanced

      • Accounting software experience (Advantageous - SAGE X3)
