      POSITION SUMMARY

      The Accounting Analyst will be responsible for completing accounting activities related to Vertiv’s revenue accounting. Responsibilities include analyzing and monitoring status and progress of service orders, accounting for all related costs, and handling revenue recognition timely and accurately based on US GAAP. The position will require an individual with strong analytical skills to perform calculations, reconciliations, complete journal entries for all revenue GL accounts and provide financial reports. The role requires developing knowledge in the Revenue module within the ERP system and will conduct research and analysis of transactions regularly. The position will report to the Senior Accounting Manager. Significant interaction with other departments, business disciplines and international operations will be required by this individual.

      RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Apply accounting technical knowledge and analytical skills in the performance of calculations, preparation of journal entries, and completion of monthly reconciliations primarily focused on revenue recognition, costs, work in progress, deferred revenue, and unbilled revenue.
      • Apply strong critical thinking in reviewing the accuracy of GL account balances and calculations.
      • Perform in-depth research on reconciling items and investigate the root cause of accounting issues that arise in daily activities. Apply problem-solving skills in finding resolution in a timely manner.
      • Identify and monitor ERP system issues that affect financial information and accounting activities. Collaborate with IT to achieve resolution.
      • Prepare and distribute recurring and ad hoc financial reports.
      • Perform month-end activities and collaborate with team members as needed.
      • Identify and communicate process improvement opportunities and work towards increasing efficiency through improving processes and tools utilized.
      • Maintain audit-ready documentation of all work done.
      • Support internal and external audit processes.
      • Document applicable SOX controls.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • BS/BA in accounting required.
      • 3+ years of experience in accounting.
      • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP.
      • Very proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial software applications.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
      • Strong organizational and project management skills.
      • Confidence in challenging the status quo; always on the lookout for continuous improvement opportunities.
      • The ability to go fast; the desire to help others go faster.
      • Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Experience in Manufacturing.
      • Experience with Oracle.
