Preparation and execution of financial reporting tasks and month-end close activities associated with general ledger month end close process and MIF reporting and consolidation tool, analytical review of financial information, and review of operation of relevant systems, transactions, processes and controls to ensure the proper recording of and the accurate and timely filing of internal financial statements to Daimler.
Posting of journal entries, support to all existing outsourced transactions and processes and validation of all system interfaces feeding SAP cbFC and/or MIF consolidation tool.
Run general ledger system routines for such processes as utilization, discounting, cross-company clearing etc. during the close process.
Launch and manage the Accelerated Close Tracker (ACT) tool, which includes monitoring the closing dashboard and open milestones, follow-up on escalated items, and running historical reports for internal controls.
Support month-end analytical review process to further improve the accuracy of the financial statements.
Support initiatives to facilitate optimization of close activities, including efficient use and timing of activities of the offshore team.
Preparation of general ledger account reconciliations and financial analyses to ensure that financial transactions are recorded in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Support of monthly review of reconciliations to ensure accuracy and quality is maintained for cash, prepaid, legal, foreign exchange, and discounting related transactions and balances.
Apply relevant guidance and perform necessary analysis for changes to accounting standards.
Prepare the required footnote disclosures for quarterly reporting purposes such as compounding of provisions and other MIF consolidation disclosures.
Prepare coding for non-AR cash receipts.
Perform accounting for the two work streams of unclaimed property. 1) Assist with efforts to pay vendors and customers current unclaimed property. For amounts paid by DTNA that remain unclaimed, submit required funds and support to respective states. 2) Facilitate unclaimed property recovery efforts on behalf of DTNA. "Claim" property owed to DTNA per individual state requirements.
Complete general ledger system mapping updates, table maintenance, and access requests.
Support SAP master data role with the offshore team related to cross-company clearing, foreign exchange rates, regrouping and period roll-forwards.
Calculate provision requirements and record required adjustments for legal and environmental provisions.
Assist with the aged items tracking process rollout for account reconciliations, and once implemented become responsible for monitoring, escalation and resolution of aged items.
Manage ad-hoc assignments and projects as they arise (i.e. unclaimed property audits, bank account access reviews, general accounting initiatives, etc.).
Assist with the research of various accounting issues and resolve accounting/reporting issues to ensure proper accounting standards and best practices are applied.
Provide training and support the communication of the accounting effects of transactions to the business partners
Coordinate with external auditors on delivery of PBC items and communicate effectively across the business.
Support over 50 users in multiple locations during the month end close process.
Assist with transition of additional transactional processing to the offshore team.
Support the research of relevant new accounting issues, proposal of appropriate accounting treatment and drafting of white papers on proper IFRS accounting treatment related to technical accounting issues and matters.
Prepare documentation of new and/or existing processes and policies.
Working with the business partners to identify process and/or system improvements and assist in the set-up of relevant systems.
Advanced analytical tools, such as advanced Excel, Power BI, and Outsystems are utilized in this position.
Prepare the communication of financial results and key performance metrics (KPI's) to management for the status of month end closing activities.
Prepare the communication to the MIF reporting group for appropriate reporting, including any group elimination requirements.
Provide support on issues and exceptions to accounting management and the external audit team
Provide quarterly external audit support.
Perform evaluation of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting and ensure that the necessary controls are documented and tested in accordance with the Company's internal requirements.
Work cross functionally with business units to implement new business processes in own area of responsibility as a result of changes in business or accounting requirements.
Routinely monitor, track and report progress of implementation on difficult projects.
Support organizational and/or system changes to meet continuous improvement objectives.
Bachelor’s Degree with focus in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or related field required from an accredited university/college
Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels within the company and department and operate up, down, or across an organization
Ability to identify issues quickly, and effectively communicate throughout the organization
Ability to work independently and ensure follow up and completion of relevant tasks and projects
Aptitude for working in a rapidly changing environment and ability to sort out priorities
Team player focused on adding value and achieving results
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
Experience with advanced analytical tools, such as advanced Excel and Power BI
Working knowledge of SAP, mainframe systems, and system interfaces
Manufacturing industry experience
1 to 2 years of CPA firm experience preferred with current knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS
Visa sponsorship will only be open to current Daimler Truck North America employees working under an existing U.S. Daimler Truck North America Visa

Inside the Role
We design, operate and control the Accounting and Financial Reporting process of DTNA. As a valuable business partner we ensure transparency, provide accounting guidance and services. As quality gatekeeper, we drive compliance with accounting and financial reporting rules within DTNA and the Daimler Truck Division. This position plays a key role in the accounting group, specifically within the financial closing and consolidation process. Key responsibilities include managing the closing tool, running numerous G/L closing routines, assisting with the MIF reporting and consolidation process, and facilitating closing communication with users in multiple locations across the US and abroad, including coordination with the offshore team. This position helps the team reach their goals of optimization and continuous improvement of the closing process. Throughout the month, this position assists with processing non-AR cash, monitoring the status of balance sheet account reconciliations, preparing journal entries, documenting and assessing processes, and coordinating unclaimed property tasks. Advanced analytical tools, such as Outsystems and Power BI, are used in this position. Must be able to work independently and cross-functionally within the areas of Finance, Controlling, Operations, Tax, Treasury, and other areas to research and resolve accounting and reporting issues and to ensure proper Accounting standards and best practices are applied. Position offers a starting salary ran ge of $74,500.00 - $95,000.00 USD
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.
