      POSITION OVERVIEW

      As a world leader in the tire manufacturing industry, Hankook Tire Canada is seeking a self-motivated experienced Accounting Assistant to join our team.

      The Accounting Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting various accounting and financial tasks, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of financial transactions.

      The new hire will report to the Accounting Manager.

      Key Accountabilities

      RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Accounts Payable and Receivable:
        • Process invoices, expense reports, and payment transactions.
        • Assist in monitoring and managing accounts payable and receivable.
      • Bank Reconciliation:
        • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial records.
        • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
      • Assist in Month-End and Year-End Closing:
        • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
        • Prepare necessary documentation and reports for financial analysis.
      • Financial Reporting:
        • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, statements, and summaries.
        • Collaborate with team members to compile and analyze financial data.
      • General Administrative Support:
        • Provide general administrative assistance to the finance department.
        • Assist in handling routine inquiries and communications.
      • Assistance in Budgeting and Forecasting:
        • Support the finance team in budget preparation and forecasting.
        • Assist in monitoring budgetary performance and identifying variances.
      • Compliance and Documentation:
        • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
        • Assist in maintaining proper documentation for audits.
      • Communication and Coordination:
        • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information.
        • Communicate effectively with team members and external stakeholders.
      • Any other duties may be assigned by management

      Qualifications

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      • College or University Diploma or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finanace
      • A minimum of 1 year of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience and Bank Reconciliation
      • Advanced computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, MS Outlook)
      • Strong knowledge of ERP System (SAP) preferred
      • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English required
      • Excellent attention to detail is required
      • Ability to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines
      • Able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills
      • Strong tact, influencing, judgment and consultative skills
      • Aptitude for critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision making
      • Strength of character, ethics, and commitment, and reliability
