Job Description

- Process and reconcile expenditure transactions using UAccess Financials, including PCard reconciliation, disbursement vouchers, and internal billings.
- Gather, organize and enter financial transactions into departmental software and excel spreadsheets; pull data from software databases and comprehend information to then communicate with Housing Staff members.
- Assist with the processing of journal entries.
- Assist with travel related expense reimbursements and travel advances.
- Assist with payroll time reporting duties.
- Coordinate Capital Asset inventory, bi-annually.
- Communicate with Housing staff to ensure accurate and complete purchasing documentation. Address financial policy and procedure questions, resolve issues, and educate employees on avoiding violations.
- Communicate with University Financial Services personnel on issues or questions arising from finance transactions; and external vendors for invoice questions/clarifications.
- Adhere to all University, State, and Federal Policies.
- Create, update, and organize departmental files, databases, and reports, manages data across various software platforms.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple, various tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to follow directions and show initiative.
- Experienced in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal (spoken) and written.
- Awareness of the importance of confidentiality.
- Experience with UAccess Financials.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required.
- Four years of increased responsible office and administrative experience.
Accounting Assistant II Posting Number req23133 Department Housing & Residential Life Department Website Link https://housing.arizona.edu/ Location Main Campus Address Tucson, AZ USA Position Highlights The Accounting Assistant, Senior provides bookkeeping and clerical administrative support for Housing & Residence Life Finance, Analysis and Budget Team (FAB) and reports to the Accounting Manager. The successful candidate must be organized and detailed oriented with effective communication and customer service skills. They must be able to evaluate and interpret information as they multi-task while working both independently and as part of a team. They must be able to comprehend and apply University and department policy and procedures to be effective in the position. Housing & Residential Life (Housing), a self-funded auxiliary housed within Campus Life at the University of Arizona, operates 23 dorms and 1 graduate apartment complex that house over 7,800 students annually on the University of Arizona Main Campus. More than 80% of on-campus residents are first-year students. Our dorms range in style from historic to modern and range in size from 60 to 1,000 residents. While the University does not require students to live on campus, more than 70% of all incoming first-year students choose to live in UA housing to help their transition to university life.
