Job Description

- Maintains and updates files and personnel files in Accounting office.
- Protects the organization’s reputation and value by keeping all information confidential.
- Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and/or donor transactions.
- Creates invoices and reports.
- Performs timely account reconciliation.
- Prepare and enter monthly journal entries.
- Assist with monthly closing and preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Provides support in year-end audit procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Conscientious about timelines of assignments, ability to meet all deadlines and quality of work.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail; ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize workload to manage time, tasks and priorities to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge in Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- A degree in accounting or a related field.
- At least two years of relevant work-related experience, including Federal and State grant and revenue experience.
- Demonstrated experience in non-profit accounting, bookkeeping or similar.
- Experience with Sage.

What You Will Do
As the Accounting Associate, you will be an integral part of our team and will be primarily responsible for assisting and supporting all functions of the Accounting Department. This includes but is not limited to revenue billing for all Federal and State grants and grants, accounts receive, account research, maintenance of the general ledger, and reconciliation of bank and other financial statements.
