      Working with support from shared services, the Accounting Director partners with the Executive Director, Health Center Administrator, and leadership team to establish strategic direction supporting the community's core values. The role involves supporting the organization's financial objectives through collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data for monthly profit and loss statements, annual budgets, and audits.

      Principle Duties

      Leadership

      • Promote teamwork within and between departments to ensure smooth operations and quality services.
      • Organize the accounting department to ensure proper record-keeping.
      • Hire, educate, and coach accounting staff to meet and exceed standards.
      • Serve as a resource for other department heads, providing training and support.
      • Conduct monthly staff meetings to promote communication and engagement.
      • Coordinate year-end activities, including audits, schedules, and tax returns.
      • Oversee Medicare billings, monitor accounts, and follow up on past dues.
      • Manage payroll deposits and tax filings.
      • Delegate tasks to supervisory staff for efficient workflow.
      • Maintain resident business files.
      • Perform additional duties as assigned and be on-call 24/7 as required.

      Accounting/Financial Analysis

      • Provide timely monthly financial reports to ownership.
      • Ensure compliance with GAAP during audits.
      • Manage General Ledgers, including journal entries, receivables, payables, and fixed assets.
      • Maintain accurate trust schedules and perform reconciliations.
      • Handle billings for independent living and health center, preparing necessary reports.
      • Prepare journal entries, supporting schedules, and financial statements.
      • Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts regularly.
      • Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
      • Handle miscellaneous financial tasks and prepare special reports as needed.
      • Assist in budget preparation and monitoring.
      • Recommend efficiency improvements and cost savings.
      • Process move-out, death, and deposit refunds.
      • Forecast cash requirements to ensure sufficient funds.
      • Ensure timely submission of financial reports as required by DSS.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
      • Proven skills in leadership, supervision, and communication.
      • At least three years of experience with G/L, A/P, A/R, payroll, and financial statements.
      • Experience with audits and GAAP strongly preferred.
      • Proficiency with business office technology, spreadsheets, and word processing.
      • Passion for excellent customer service.

      This position offers a 15% bonus potential based on achieving annual goals, on top of a salary range of $120,000 - $140,000.
