- Assist Principal Accountants and Accountants with cash management, accounts payable, and payroll functions.
- Support the completion of bank reconciliations.
- Help prepare audit work papers and related documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and mathematics.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting work-related documents.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to research, analyze data, and prepare reports.
- Familiarity with standard computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Must be currently enrolled as a sophomore or higher at an accredited college or university.
- Must have completed at least 30 college credits, including coursework in accounting.

- Pay Rate: Non-Exempt, Hourly Rate Range: $16.35 - $18.00
- Duration: June 2025 to August 2025

Position Information:
The Accounting Intern is an opportunity designed for college students pursuing a career in accounting. Under the guidance of the Comptroller or Deputy Comptroller, the intern will gain practical, hands-on experience in a public sector accounting environment while supporting key financial operations.

Supervised By: Receives general supervision from the Comptroller and/or the Deputy Comptroller.
