      About Asarco Grupo Mexico

      ASARCO LLC is a subsidiary of one of the world’s largest Copper producers, Grupo Mexico, which ranks third in the United States in Copper production. ASARCO LLC is a fully integrated miner, smelter, and refinery of copper in the United States with over 2,800 employees spanning across 4 sites in Arizona.

      We are looking for motivated students with a strong interest in the mining industry. Our internship program is 10 weeks long, in which you will receive important industry training and get involved in meaningful real-world projects like planning a program, designing a process, or implementing technology. The culmination of your program will include an opportunity to present your work to management at ASARCO & Grupo Mexico.

      Duties:

      • Basic account reconciliations.
      • Reconciling capital component maintenance costs.
      • Reconciling maintenance equipment register to fixed asset records.
      • Data entry and analysis reporting for Royalty

      Education Requirements:

      • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university on a full-time basis.
      • Must be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate level.
      • Must be majoring in Business Degrees, Accounting, Finance, public administration or related discipline.

      Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

      • Excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities.
      • Time management skills in performing multiple projects with various team members.
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present findings and make recommendations.
      • Proficient with Microsoft Office products

      Experience Required: No previous experience required.

      Schedule: 8-hour shift Monday to Friday

      Duration: Requires at least a ten-week internship commitment between late-May and mid-August.
