Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field, and 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience with retail industry experience preferred
Excellent knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) to ensure timely and accurate reporting and thorough application of accounting principles (i.e. journal entries, general ledger)
Able to perform cost analysis procedures
High degree of organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Must be self-motivated, adaptable and flexible to operate with minimal direction and little or no supervision while working in a complex and changing environment to effectively achieve goals
Exercise independent judgment and discretion with ability to identify problems and make recommendations for resolution
Demonstrated leadership, strong dedication to teamwork and integrity within professional environment
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Supervisory/management of small team preferred
Analytic ability to review and assess financial data, interpret trends, and recognize inconsistencies
Knowledgeable of policies and standards to ensure compliance while identifying financial risks
Displays actions related to profitability and risk management and effectively communicates risk management issues
Exercises independent judgment and discretion with ability to identify problems and initiate corrective action
Able to apply innovation to offer and implement suggestions to improve overall operations
Ability to manage many activities, requests, and short-cycle deadlines simultaneously
Proficient with financial system applications, SAP, Rental Results, MS Excel, and MS Office

Accounting Manager - Medford, MA location
The Turner Shop provides sales, rental and services to Turner Construction Company’s construction projects in the New England area. The Turner Shop Accounting Manager will be responsible to perform and manage all accounting transactions associated with the Shop’s activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, auditing, reporting and oversight of assistant and / or data entry personnel.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform and manage all accounting transactions associated with sales, rental and services provided by the Turner Shop.
Manage accounts payable for vendor and supplier invoice processing per contract terms and be responsible for associated financial processing of transactions.
Obtain and review vendor and supplier statement of accounts on a monthly basis to keep accounts up to date.
Manage accounts receivable to ensure accurate, complete and timely billing and be responsible for collecting payments utilizing skills in project management, organization and communication.
Perform inventory valuation and planning.
Establish and oversee internal controls and safeguards to ensure financial health of shop by auditing accounts payable with inventory and accounts receivable monthly,
Audit billing and project ledger for compliance with GAAP requirements and company policy.
Compile, analyze, and present weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual accounting and financial reports.
Develop key performance indicators required to improve performance and facilitate weekly and monthly meetings to keep team apprised of potential risks or additional potential profitability.
Update monthly Shop assets and rentals for insurance documentation
Assist with all internal and external audit requests
Create supportive environment to develop high performing team
Utilize SAP and Rental Results software
Review hourly, part-time, over-time, and bi-weekly submission of timesheets (salary payroll) for accuracy and completion.
Manage accounting issues with vendors, suppliers and Turner’s project teams to resolve disputes.
Manage compliance of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
