Our client is looking for an Accounting Manager for our La Porte, TX location.

Job Purpose: To manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This includes supervising staff, implementing and maintaining accounting systems, and preparing financial report

Responsibilities:

- Manage the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and best practices, ensuring the company's accounting practices remain compliant.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial information and support business decisions.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting department.

Job Requirements:

- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Proven experience managing a team of accounting professionals.
- Experience with general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and account reconciliation.
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting.
- Experience with financial analysis and reporting.
- Experience with internal controls and audit procedures.
- Experience with NetSuite.
- Exceptional understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
