      Title: Accounting Manager

      Reports To: Director of FP&A

      Location: Hybrid (Lawrence, MA Area)


      Little Sprouts is part of a global network of early education childcare centers dedicated to building and sustaining optimal learning and working spaces where children ages 0-5 can thrive. Here in the US, we operate 39 schools in the New England area under three brands; Little Sprouts, Building Blocks, and Heartworks Early Education & Child Care Centers.


      This role is hybrid requiring three days per week in person at our Lawrence, MA office space.

      Responsibilities
      • Supervise Accounts Receivable/Billing, Accounts Payable, and accounting personnel.
      • Plan, organize, and coordinate year-end close process with auditors.
      • Lead close processes – Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual
      • Coordinate and prepare timely and detailed financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
      • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
      • Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
      • Ad hoc cost analysis projects as needed.
      • Support Visual lease CAM and Rent reconciliations
      • Ensure successful completion of the company’s tax filings.
      • Plan, budget, and authorize expenditures.
      • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy in all finance departments.
      • Manage cross-functional projects between finance and other departments.
      • Oversight of American Express Credit Card and Staples Business Advantage program.
      • Proactively review internal processes and implement improvements.
      • Partner with center and operational leadership
      • Manage relationships with 3rd party vendors.
      • Review and manage daily and monthly cash flow.
      • Hire, train, and retain finance staff.
      • Maintain employee confidentiality and protect confidential information.
      • Other tasks as assigned or needed.


      Who You Are:
      • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
      • 5 + years or more of public or public/private accounting experience
      • Multi-Site / Multi-State retail experience a plus in a private equity backed model
      • Prior experience with directing and supervising staff
      • In-depth knowledge of GAAP required and IFRS a plus
      • Purchase accounting, M&A and integration experience a plus
      • Experience with technical accounting research, evaluation and documentation
      • Solid system skills – preferred experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX 365, Paylocity or ADP, advanced excel, Procare AR and billing systems
      • Ability to roll up sleeves and be proactive to obtain needed information
      • Excellent verbal communication skills required for communicating issues and providing concise, thoughtful updates to senior management

      $120,000 - $125,000 a year
      Up to 10% annual bonus potential.
