- Accounts Receivable Management: Oversee the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely and accurate billing and collection of payments. Develop and implement strategies to improve cash flow and reduce outstanding receivables.
- Customer Billings: Manage the customer billing process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and contractual terms. Resolve any billing issues or discrepancies promptly.
- Revenue Recognition: Ensure revenue recognition processes are in compliance with ASC 606.
- General Ledger Accounting: Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with GAAP. Perform, and/or review, balance sheet reconciliations and assist in the preparation of financial statements.
- Internal Controls: Assess and maintain, or develop, internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data, related to the work prepared by the Manager’s team and conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Sales Tax Management: Oversee the company's sales tax processes, including charging, remitting, and handling sales tax audits. Ensure compliance with all relevant sales tax regulations and requirements.
- Team Leadership and Management: Lead and mentor a team of five direct reports, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development. Emphasize people and team management, including:
- Process Improvements: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
- Optimizing Team Resources: Optimize the use of team resources to meet departmental and company objectives.
- Building a Scalable Team: Develop strategies to build and maintain a scalable team capable of supporting the company’s growth.
- System Management: Utilize Microsoft Business Central for financial management and reporting. Ensure the effective use of the system and provide training to team members as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to support business operations and strategic initiatives. Provide financial insights and support for decision-making processes.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant accounting experience, with a significant portion in a managerial role.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with customer billings and revenue recognition that is compliant with ASC 606.
- Significant hands-on experience with meeting reporting deadlines during the month-end close cycle.
- Public accounting experience is a plus.
- SaaS industry experience is a plus.
- Certification: CPA certification is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Business Central and other accounting software. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Communication: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of the company, with a focus on accounts receivable, customer billings, revenue recognition and general ledger accounting. The ideal candidate will have extensive accounting experience, a strong understanding of GAAP, and a proven track record of managing accounting functions effectively. This role requires a minimum of 7-10 years of work experience, with public accounting experience and a CPA certification being highly desirable.
This is a remote position based in the United States.
