      Purpose of Job:

      Ensure all Scotia (Equity and Debt) Direct Participant (DP), CBID (Bond Dealer) Trades are processed and reconciled daily as well as ensuring that CDMS (Contracts Department Monitoring System) Firm Balancing is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Process rejected trades on the P&S Edit. Process Trade Correction requests (across all Business Lines) ensuring all requested are processed in a timely manner. Work as part of a team, providing backup and support for All functions within the Contracts Department. Assume new roles and responsibilities as assigned, driven by new and changing business requirements.

      Key Accountabilities:

      • Perform the following functions on a daily basis;
        • Monitor and address Scotia DP Equity and Debt trades differences ensuring requirements are met.
        • Ensure all Bond Dealer trades are matched.
        • Balance CDMS and make appropriate adjustments for both 061 and 191.
        • Review P&S Edit trades, relay information and process required entries for both 061 and 191.
        • Monitor all extended settlement trades to ensure all trades are validated.
        • Resolve any issues as discovered on reconciliation report.
      • Process Trade Correction amendments or cancellation requests across all Business Lines received through email or Webpost.
      • Provide customer service in accordance with Scotia Service Standards.
      • Acquire & maintain knowledge of all systems required to complete these tasks in an efficient manner.
      • Provide coverage and support for other members of Credit & Brokerage team as required and directed. . Complete miscellaneous duties as assigned.
      • Work hours from 8:30am to 5:00 pm. O.T. as required. Must be pre-approved.

      Functional Competencies:

      • Must possess sound knowledge of the following systems used by the department: BFS Versapath, OnDemand, Charles River, CDS/Arrow, Microsoft Office and Webpost.
      • Ability to provide reliable and timely responses professionally to direct inquiries from advisors, trading desk, other broker/dealers, various operations and support departments and management.
      • Knowledge of brokerage industry, particularly relating to trade processing and balancing.
      • Resolved Approximatedly 1,000 DP trades discrpancies Annual
      • Address Approximately 7,000 Edit items Annually.
      • Process Approximately 3,000 trade correctly monthly.
      • Strong communication and organizational skills.

      Educational Requirements:

      • A University Degree or College Diploma or equivalent
      • CSC, or working towards the CSC
      • Strong interpersonal, communication & listening skills.
