QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires knowledge of proper office methods and procedures; data processing as it relates to financial record keeping; general accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures; proper use and operation of standard office equipment and machines such as calculator, adding machine, typewriter and computer terminal.
Must possess the skill to understand and carry out a variety of complex directions without continuous supervision; maintain accurate accounts and other fiscal records; perform mathematical calculations accurately and rapidly; establish and maintain complex financial records; prepare accurate financial reports; organize and analyze data in an effective and useful manner; apply rules and regulations to specific cases; reconcile differences within the record keeping system and related transactions; type accurately; communicate effectively in both oral and written forms; establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties; may require the skill to direct, oversee and coordinate the work of others.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Three years of increasingly responsible clerical experience in fiscal record keeping work. Education equivalent to graduation from the twelfth grade is required.
A CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK WILL BE REQUIRED OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT.
DUTIES OF POSITION: To perform specialized, complex and highly responsible clerical and technical accounting functions in support of the day-to-day accounting operations for specialized programs and fiscal services. This position receives limited supervision from a supervisory level within a framework of standard policies and procedures. This position may require the ability to direct and supervise the work of subordinates in a lead capacity. Requires a broad technical knowledge in a specialized area of assignment such as accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll. This position is also responsible for accurate and timely work production.
STARTING SALARY: $4,158.04 (monthly)
NUMBER OF MONTHS: 12 (to begin as soon as possible)
NUMBER OF HOURS: 8 (daily working hours 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
