Accounting/Back-Office Assistant
(Full-Time - Sacramento)(One position)
Back Office Clerk Qualifications:
Position requires at least two years of previous credit union back-office or accounting experience. You will not be considered if you do not have at least one of the required experiences listed. Excellent communication skills, must be flexible and self-motivated, have a high degree of organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Knowledge of Federal and State rules and regulations, and all California Community Credit Unions policies and procedures. Must be bondable.
Basic Function:
Under limited supervision, performs assigned back-office duties as required using computerized systems. In addition, provides complete and accurate information about all credit union products and services.
Knowledge/Skills:
1. Completion of Start of Day procedures.
2. Receive and process ACH files and returns.
3. Receive and process Share Draft files and returns.
4. Process stop-payments of ACH and Share Drafts.
5. Print member statements at month-end, quarter-end and year-end.
6. Balancing small employee group payrolls.
7. Balance and post payroll from the State Controller's Office.
8. Recording of daily cash analysis activity of Bank(s).
9. Balancing corporate checks and money orders. Process stop-payments, return “Off-Us” checks, and requests for copies of checks.
10. Process VISA Credit and Debit card orders.
11. Balance and replenish the ATM at the main branch.
12. Process ATM outages.
13. Post daily VISA payments and settlements.
14. Review Falcon reports for fraudulent activity
15. Process and reporting of credit and debit card disputes.
16. Prepare and post General Ledger entries.
17. Remittance of monthly MBI and GAP premiums, and posting of Life and Disability Insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment and Group Life Insurance premiums.
18. Payment of all invoices as approved by the President/CEO.
19. Balance/Reconcile bank and subsidiary general ledger accounts.
20. Research levies received. Place appropriate holds on member's accounts and send the money at the appropriate time.
Ability to work as part of a team
· Reliable work attendance
· Professionalism in verbal and written communications
· Knowledge of California Credit Union Law and Regulations
· Comfortable with and willing to learn and master new and emerging banking technology.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to frequently move about the branch to accomplish tasks.
· Prolonged standing through the workday, at times.
· Corrected vision within the normal range.
· Hearing within the normal range.
· Ability to lift 30 lbs. as may be required.
· Must be willing to report to the Sacramento (Main), Elk Grove & Roseville branch locations

Salary Range:
$26.00 - $27.50 depending on experience
