      What You’ll do as a Tax Examiner Associate

      • Play a crucial role in assisting, educating, and providing system assistance to taxpayers through working correspondence via email, letters, and telephone.
      • Be given the opportunity to learn about and become an expert in the various taxes assessed by the State of Ohio.
      • Undergo comprehensive training on a wide array of tax types such as individual income, school district withholding taxes, and business taxes.

      Tax Examiner Associates are desired in numerous divisions across the Department and will be filled according to need as well as individual qualification. After your initial 365-day probationary period, you will be eligible to apply for positions throughout the Department.       After a training period, this position is hybrid eligible.

      The selected candidate will begin at Pay Grade 29, Step 1 ($22.02/hour or $45,802/annually) of the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule, with annual pay increases after 6 months of satisfactory performance.

      • Undergraduate core (Associates Degree or 3rd year of undergrad) program in a business-related field or public administration. Two (2) courses in accounting (please attach a copy of your academic transcript to your online application)
