We are seeking an Accounting Technician III - BU to join our Accounts Payable team to perform multiple complex accounts payable support tasks: Process and prioritize high volume of invoices, manage daily deadlines, solve problems, make reliable decisions, independent research, analyze facts, and communicate effectively to internal and external customers.

      • Serve in lead role in work stream, resolve problems, monitor work, provide instructions on tasks, and ensure proper work methods (i.e., travel, consultant contracts, etc.)
      • Perform complex tasks associated with reconciliation, high volume of processing and balancing of vouchers, ledgers, journals, reports and statements
      • Research and resolve complex internal and external billing inquiries, accounting, and budget information requests
      • Reconcile procurement card transactions, aging, monthly vendor statements, and research outstanding unpaid invoices
      • Record journal or correcting entries
      • Lead various accounts payable projects (i.e., such as streamlining travel/training processes within SPU and the documentation for policies and procedures or lead consultant contract invoice review and contract compliance or lead in system upgrade testing)
      • Communicate and collaborate with key customers on internal controls, policy and procedural issues, recommendations, and updates
      • Prepare reports, summaries, and statements

      • Requires three (3) years of previous accounting and/or bookkeeping experience

      OR:

      • one-year work experience as an Accounting Technician II

      OR:

      • A combination of education, training, experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class

      The Ideal Candidate Profile:

      • Highly motivated self-starter who performs well in a continuously changing environment
      • Ability to estimate timelines and resources to accomplish a task
      • Professional customer service, interpersonal, strong written and oral communication skills
      • Results-orientated, strong analytical and research skills, able to handle multiple priorities, and takes pride in the accuracy, quality, and completeness of work
      • Experience with internal controls over purchasing and payables
      • Proficiency in Microsoft office tools, Outlook, One Drive and Share Point
      • Accounts Payable, reconciliations, and PeopleSoft or other large ERP financial system experience preferred

      Workplace Environment (Telework Expectation): This position allows for the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Employees will be required to come into the office three (3) times per week. Individual schedules will be agreed upon by the employee and their supervisor.

      The full salary range for this position is $35.72 - $41.59 per hour.
