Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, the Accounts Payable Specialist provides a variety of administrative services in support of the Accounts Payable (A/P) department at the University of New England (UNE). This position utilizes university systems, policies and procedures to accurately process purchase approvals and disbursements to authorized vendors. The Accounts Payable Specialist also takes action to resolve discrepancies observed between purchase orders and their related invoices, reconciles monthly vendor statements, serves as an internal resource departments, and guides/educates departments and vendors regarding UNE’s procurement and payment procedures.
The accounts payable department works to deliver prompt, timely, and accurate disbursement of funds as they relate to the University’s business expenses. The department processes all payments through the University’s financial systems in accordance with the University of New England policies and procedures and IRS reporting requirements.
