- Verify accuracy of non-purchase order upload payment requests for assigned companies in accordance with corporate policies and audit requirements
- Create and maintain invoice upload templates, ensuring that all uploads are user friendly, free of error and can be processed as efficiently as possible
- Process daily US freight, customs and telecom interface files, generate and analyze related reports and perform system testing on an as-needed basis
- Reconcile assigned General Ledger accounts on a monthly basis
- Monitor aged A/P and debit balances, ensuring that items are resolved in a timely manner
- Evaluate, update and provide tests for the internal control documentation on a yearly basis
- Complete freight reconciliations quarterly and/or requested by the business
- Research and resolve vendor and employee inquiries regarding problem invoices
- Annual reconciliation and prior year carryforward of dealer advertising account balances
- Provide backup support for other AP team members as needed.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field and/or relevant work experience
- 2+ years experience in a professional office environment, preferably within an accounting department
- Positive attitude and able to work effectively within a high-paced team
- Ability to manage and prioritize large volumes and multitask
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person, over the telephone and via e-mail
- Excellent attention to detail
- Focus on process optimization and improvement
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office products, including Visio
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Ability to project manage and drive results

We are currently looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist at our Corporate Offices in Ajax, ON
The VGCA Accounting Shared Services Centre provides essential back office accounting functions for General Ledger, Inventory, Accounts Receivable & Affiliates, Accounts Payable, and Fixed Assets for multiple VW Group Companies including Volkswagen, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, Factory Production, and Electric Vehicle Infrastructure.
The AP Specialist is responsible for review, audit and accurate and timely processing of uploads and interfaces for supplier invoices, in accordance with corporate policies and procedures effectively and efficiently for Volkswagen Group Canada Accounting Shared Services. For this role, the Accounting Shared Service provides accounting functions directly for NSC companies. In addition, this role is also responsible with ensuring monthly reconciliations are completed & follow up actions are taken for any aged and debit balances in the AP sub-ledger.
