      Accounts Payable Specialist

      The role of the Accounts Payable Specialist is to provide a variety of accounting services to the USA Multifamily Management Accounting Department, which includes the responsibility of the functions associated with processing invoices for payment for a portfolio of limited partnerships

      Reports to: Accounts Payable Manager, MFM

      Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities

      Job Classification: Regular, Full Time, Non-Exempt

      JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

      • Research and reconcile invoices and statements.
      • Maintain and audit unprocessed invoice files for the portfolio
      • Print, match, review and mail weekly checks.
      • Void, re-class, and modify disbursements and invoices.
      • Provide contact support to on-site staff to assist with questions relating to accounts payable issues.
      • Prepare and complete data entry. This includes reviewing and exporting data from in-house software programs and contacting property site staff to obtain necessary file documentation when necessary.
      • Create and maintain good relations with internal and external customers.
      • Be proficient with in-house accounting software.
      • As directed, maintains whatever spreadsheets and/or tracking logs are required by department operations.
      • Correct any address or property name changes
      • Performs document copying and scanning, as needed for the department.
      • Performs all other duties as determined and directed by management.

      Compensation: $34.60 - $37.00 per hour, depending on expereince.

      REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:

      Education/Experience

      A four-year Bachelors degree and minimum two years of accounts payable work experience, or a two-year Associates degree and minimum four years of accounts payable work experience.

      Language Skills

      Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating, procedural manuals, and safety documents. Ability to write routine email correspondence. Ability to interact/communicate effectively in a professional and pleasant manner with Vendors, Affiliates, Stakeholders, Corporate Shareholders and Company Employees.

      Mathematical Skills

      Knowledge of basic accounting principles. Ability to effectively reconcile account balances, calculate figures and amounts, and apply basic math concepts.

      Technical Knowledge

      Ability to operate proficiently within the in-house computer software program, and Microsoft Office Programs such as Excel, Word and Outlook.

      Ability to operate a 10-key with speed and accuracy, fax, copier/scanner, telephone, personal computer, and typewriter.

      Reasoning Abilities

      Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a variety of practical situations and accurately follows standardized procedures that may occasionally call for minor deviations. Must be able to think rationally beyond a specific set of instructions. Must be able to work at a fast pace, perform duties while under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
