      An Accounts Receivable Representative is responsible for ensuring that insurance carriers are properly billed for services rendered and that payments are received in a timely manner.

      This position is full time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:00am - 5:30pm PST or MST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.

      We offer 2 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:00am to 5:00pm PST, Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

      Primary Responsibilities:

      • Follow up on outstanding claims via phone, web and mail
      • Denial resolution
      • Identifying trends
      • Upkeep on insurance changes including but not limited to: policy changes, claims address updates, third party administrator changes
      • Work collaboratively with other departments as needed to resolve claim issues

      Required Qualifications:

      • High School Diploma / GED
      • Must be 18 years of age OR older
      • 1+ years of A/R Medical Billing experience including Claims Status, claim appeals/reconsiderations, charge entry, payment entry and AR follow-up
      • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
      • Experience with and understanding of ICD10 and CPT coding – including modifiers
      • Proven working experience as Accounts Receivable Clerk, Accounts Receivable Manager, or accountant
      • Understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
      • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
      • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
      • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Medicare and/or Medicaid billing experience
      • APM /NextGen/ ECW/EPIC Experience

      Telecommuting Requirements:

      • Reside within PST or MST zone
      • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
      • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
      • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

      California, Colorado, Nevada, OR Washington Residents Only: The hourly range for this is $16.54 - $32.55 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
