What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Handle various aspects of medical billing, including claim creation, submission, and payment posting
- Monitor insurance denials and work with insurance companies to resolve and recover denied claims
- Review and interpret contractual terms, apply adjustments as necessary
- Assist in training and orientation of new staff members
- Serve as a resource for problem-solving related to patient account and claims issues
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associates Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in insurance denials process and health care claims processing
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Certified Biller preferred
- Prior experience with AthenaNet billing system
- Medical terminology knowledge
