      The Accuracy Control and Optical Tool Group supports submarine construction at the Groton Shipyard, operating in a dynamic and fast paced environment that requires prompt and technically sound dimensional control solutions. This team is responsible for all phases of the dimensional control process, including:

      • Defining shipbuilding dimensional control requirements
      • Work control, job planning, and execution
      • Processing and presenting as-built data
      • Continuous improvement initiates

      The experienced Accuracy Control Analyst will learn and execute accuracy control processes for submarine construction. Primary duties include:

      • Managing Accuracy Control SWSS lines and operations
      • Closing out open accuracy control requirements
      • Generating and managing OTARS (Optical Tool Alignment Reports)
      • Managing revision requests and coordinating data sheet updates
      • Reviewing planning and construction schedules to address emergent work
      • Supporting engineering and metrology technicians in surveying and processing routine and emergent projects
      • Assisting in the manufacture, assembly, and testing of modules, decks, and hull structures from initial receipt through final grooming, testing, and certification

      This role requires frequent interaction with management, accuracy control engineers, metrology technicians, planning teams, engineering groups, operations, ships management, other shipyards, vendors, and external customers.

      Occasional travel may be required to support collaboration with other sites and shipyards.

      This role requires extended hours & weekends

      Qualifications

      Required:

      • High School Diploma or GED
      • 10+ years of related experience

      Preferred:

      • 2+ years of Planning experience
      • Previous experience working in shipbuilding, the construction industry or a manufacturing environment
      • Military/Navy experience

      Skills

      • Advanced computer skills are required to support database updates, Excel and Word document creation and editing
      • Strong communication skills for technical documentation and collaboration across teams
