  As one of the nation's premier wall and ceiling specialty contractors, Precision Walls, Inc. (PWI) offers you an opportunity to join our team. Make a difference and promote the progress of construction! We are seeking experienced Acoustical Ceiling Mechanics!

  Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Experience with all types and ranges of commercial acoustical ceiling installations, including T-bar, bolt-slot, and bulb type grids.
  2. Measures and marks surface to lay out work according to blueprints and drawings.
  3. Install wire per manufacture recommendations
  4. Inspects drywall partitions, mechanical mountings, and masonry surface for plumb and level, using the right tools for the job.
  5. Nails, staples, or screws molding to wall to support and seals joint between ceiling tile and wall.
  6. Measure, scribe, cut and install ceiling tiles
  7. Ability to work independently on jobsites.
  8. Oversee less experienced installers/laborers
  9. Coordination with GC and other subcontractors regarding project expectations
  10. Competent to instruct and inspect a quality produced ceiling
  11. Discipline to run two string lines in opposite directions to ensure square of ceiling grid
  12. Identify/Resolve conflicts in site-specific conditions prior to road blocks in plan
  13. Skill required to patch/repair existing Acoustical Grid/Tile System into like-new appearance

  Requirements/ Experience:

  • Has the experience to be safe with stilts, baker scaffolding, and ladders
  • Positive attitude and commitment to acquire trade knowledge and quality excellence
  • Compliant with safety procedures
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrates solid verbal and written communication skills; listens to instruction
  • Dependable Transportation

  Mandatory Tools: Steel-toed boots, electric screw-guns, lifting wedge(jack), roto-zips, rasps, T-square, laser line or levels, snips, utility knife, torpedo level, chalk box, pouch, tape measure, keyhole saw, framing and combination square, circle cutter
