      Cove Ward is a 15 bed acute Older Persons Mental Health Unit, treating functional mental health conditions in a supportive and therapeutic environment. This is an exciting and emerging specialty where we treat patients who present with functional mental health issues and are clinically frail, with a variety of complex physical comorbidities.

      We are looking for a full time Activity Coordinator to join our team. The post holder will provide meaningful activities for the patients who are admitted to the ward and will require the successful candidate to work flexibly, including weekends and evenings.

      Main duties of the job

      We are looking for someone who is able to work under their own initiative, to motivate and encourage patients within a positive and active environment. The role will require good motivational and physical activity skills and the ability to use own initiative to provide activities. You will be working closely with the Occupational therapy and Nursing team to provide meaningful activities for patients.

      Qualifications and proven experience in vocational activities, arts or complementary therapies, horticulture etc. would be welcome. Candidates should have an interest in group work with an understanding of the value of structure and activity in improving mental health.
