- With supervision, help ensure timely and accurate delivery of Group and regulatory requirements, including quarterly assessment of reserves, planning and financial reporting.
- Clearly highlight, document and explain reserving decisions made, assumptions and key areas of sensitivities.
- Provide support to the Middle Eats and Turkey Reserving Actuary with reporting and communication of results.
- Provide support to the wider Middle East and Turkey business stakeholders, including Finance, Underwriting, Pricing and Claim and actively promote cross-functional sharing of information.
- Occasional travel to Dubai and/or Turkey may also be available, although this isn't essential for those candidate who would prefer not to travel
- Part-qualified actuary making good progress towards qualification
- Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics or other relevant field.
- A serious and professional attitude towards compliance of regulatory submissions with an eye for attention to detail in order to support accuracy
- A high level of numeracy skills and an analytical thinker with sound business awareness.
- Have a good knowledge of actuarial professional guidance and relevant legislation
- Professional manner
- Enthusiastic, positive attitude
- Able to cope with change
- Able to manage and meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Excellent team-working, communication and interpersonal skills.
Working hours: This role is available on a part-time, job-share or full-time basis.
Location: Fareham or London – Hybrid working is available
The Opportunity:
An opportunity has arisen to join our Middle East and Turkey Actuarial Reserving team as an Actuarial Analyst to be based in either Fareham or London.
In this role you will be involved in performing the quarterly reserving analysis as well as working on broader reserving tasks such as Planning, IFRS17 and capital modelling.
Using analytical and mathematical skills, you will work alongside other qualified actuaries, as well as liaising with other areas of the business, including Finance, Underwriting and Claim.
