Job Description

- Strong academic background, preferably in a STEM major
- Actuarial candidates must have successfully passed and/or be sitting for at least one CAS Exam
- Relevant internship experience preferred
- Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Candidates must be local to the New York area and/or able to provide their own housing and transportation
- Eligible candidates must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States without restriction

Job Description
We are seeking a Summer 2024 Actuarial Intern for our North America Pricing Group located in New York, NY.
The Internship Program is a 10-week development initiative designed to provide professional growth with potential long-term opportunity for successful individuals interested in the Insurance/Reinsurance industry.
Actuarial Interns receive hands-on training by working closely with highly experienced actuaries, gaining in-depth knowledge of the organization's business units and underwriting philosophy. The program combines on-the-job learning, workplace mentoring, and interaction with Actuaries, Underwriters, and other business members.
What can I expect as an Intern?
On-the-job Learning
Participants primary duties will be to assist Senior Actuaries in the department with pricing and research. This will include help with line of business studies, individual account pricing and general reporting requirements.
Activities, Learning and Development
Throughout the program, Interns will have the opportunity to hear from executive leaders, participate in structured, engaging leadership learnings, participate in networking events and activities with peers, members of our Executive team and outside brokerage firms, and be part of a project to present to their manager and mentor.
Qualifications
For the Actuarial Internship Program, we consider currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or graduate degree program with a minimum GPA of 3.3. We value candidates with a strong aptitude for analytical reasoning and technical skills, as well as intellectual curiosity, and interest in Actuary. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative and interpersonal skills, good communication skills, and team collaboration. Additionally, we look for the following attributes:
