      The Ad Production Designer is responsible for designing page layouts for the weekly circular. This includes gathering assets, sizing photography, typesetting headlines, setting all ad copy, and kerning to ensure readability. Using graphic design and typography skills, the Ad Production Designer applies images, icons, pricing information, product descriptions, and all other required ad components in accordance with Publix ad and brand standards and marketing objectives. This position also proofs ads to ensure accuracy.

      In Publix’s corporate offices, we value in-person interactions, similar to those our store associates have with customers. Many of Publix’s corporate offices offer work from home up to two days a week. Each business area implements their policy differently and should be discussed during interviews.

      Responsibilities:
      • Design execution of production projects, maintaining creative standards set forth by Creative leadership. This includes using approved concepts, photo assets, and copy to design final files for the weekly ad.
      • Ensuring all work is of the highest quality possible, technically and aesthetically excellent, and that work adheres to Publix brand standards.
      • Building and versioning assigned pages of promotional activity that supports price item communications and weekly circular ad campaigns in accordance with established design standards and templates.
      • Sourcing product imagery (assets)—whether existing within the Digital Asset Management system or ordering new photography through the manager—to be used in the weekly ad.
      • Providing backup support to the Sr. Studio Designer to complete in-flight flex areas and build new flex areas consistent with established campaigns.
      • One (1) year Graphic Design experience
      • Associate's degree in Graphic Design or equivalent experience
      • Entry-level Graphic Design experience (may include internships)
      • Knowledge of established creative/design standards, principles, and processes for price item ads
      • Knowledge and mastery of 4-color process printing, pre-press file preparation, and print industry technology
      • Knowledge of the graphic design process
      • Knowledge of the price item communication development process
      • Knowledge of traditional and digital media channels (e.g., print, in-store, social and digital, adaptive/responsive websites, apps, etc.), including best practices, strengths, and limitations
      • Skilled in layout and composition
      • Skilled in all phases of graphics mechanical production, including preparing files for output
      • Demonstrated commitment to being accountable for results in addition to the ability and initiative to accept a high level of responsibility
      • Knowledge of industry and market trends
      • Ability to work well under pressure

      • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Adobe InDesign
      • One (1) year Graphic Design experience
