      Job summary

      Band 4 Nursing Associates work closely with people who use our services and play an important contribution in how people experience our services. Band 4 Nursing Associates are expected to:

      Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and be accountable to the ADHD Specialist clinicians and service manager

      Be accountable as professionals registered with the NMC and work to the Code for Nurses, Midwives and Nursing Associates

      Analysis of rating scales

      Gathering developmental history

      Review of physical health questions

      Psychosocial interventions

      Promote health and prevent ill health

      Provide and monitor care

      Work to improve safety and the quality of care

      As a Nursing Associate you may be expected to practice any of the skills listed in the NMC Standards of Proficiency skills annexes, or to be responsible for the care delivered to a number of service users however, you will always be supervised by a registered nurse and receive support from the wider multi- disciplinary team. We believe that the best health care is delivered by multi-disciplinary teams working well together and in partnership with other services to provide seamless care.

      Main duties of the job

      Key Responsibilities

      The key responsibilities of a Nursing Associate in Quay Primary Healthcare show how you can help Quay to deliver a safe and effective services whilst providing patients and families with a positive experience.

      You will be expected to work as part of a multi-professional team:

      Be accountable for your practice to a registered mental health nurse

      Participate in regular supervision with that registered mental health nurse

      Actively participate in team meetings and help develop the service

      Contribute to creating and maintaining a high performing team by:

      o communicating well with all members of the team, understanding how your role helps the team achieve its objectives

      o understanding the roles of different team members and how they help the team achieve its objectives

      o using supervision and team meetings to reflect on your own practice regularly

      o Develop skills in relation to coaching/teaching individuals/carers/other staff

      o Engage in reflective practice including management of self and own reactions, asking questions and reflecting on answers given

      Quay Primary Healthcare CIC are a primary care support organisation for four of the GP PCNs within Warrington. Our mission is to deliver better clinical outcomes and accessible treatment for the people of Warrington.

      We provide a large number of ARRs staff to the GP Practices, including paramedics, FCPs, clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. We have a strong working relationship with the Clinical Directors and PCN Management team to support their needs. We are committed to training and development of our staff on a personal professional and organisational level.

      We are also provide a growing and progressive Adult ADHD Service based entirely within primary care. We are a remote service who serves the Warrington population and recently Cheshire & Merseyside and Hereford & Worcester patients via Right to Choose options.

      Develop understanding of all elements of the nursing process within the ADHD service and be able to assist the registered mental health nurses in the on-going assessment, planning, management and evaluation of care

      Assist in the delivery of complex care as prescribed by the registered mental health nurse

      Analysis of rating scales and developmental and early education history

      Work with patients and registered nurses to develop and implement care plans within

      the scope of your competence

      Provide skilled, evidence-based care which adheres to agreed policies and procedures

      Take responsibility for monitoring and evaluating care

      Ensure the privacy, dignity and safety of individuals is maintained at all times

      Demonstrate the ability to recognise changing priorities, seeking advice and guidance from the registered nurse or other registered care professionals as appropriate

      Report back and share information with the registered mental health nurses on the condition, behaviour, activity and responses of individuals

      Recognise deterioration in patients and escalate concerns appropriately

      Demonstrate good understanding of principles of consent and ensure valid consent is obtained prior to undertaking nursing and care procedures

      Act as a patient advocate within the multi-disciplinary team

      Signpost to other teams or services as appropriate

      Develop a working knowledge of other providers resources and referral systems to ensure individuals needs are met, within parameters of practice

      Promote health and prevent ill health:

      Working in partnership with patients and their families and carers

      Acting as a role model for staff working closely with people using our services
