Title of Position Adjunct Faculty - BS/MS Social Work Posting Location Remote Department ACU Dallas - College of Health and Human Services Employee Class Faculty Part-time Faculty Position Information Essential Duties
A. Provide high quality instruction, direction and support for students in the online classroom environment.
1) Provide in-depth and timely feedback on student work, being both encouraging and constructively critical.
2) Provide timely and helpful answers to students’ inquiries regarding course material or academic matters.
3) Conduct periodic synchronous interaction sessions (depending on course requirements).
4) Facilitate and grade all assignments in a timely manner.
5) Enter final course grades after consultation with the lead faculty and/or program director by assigned deadlines.
6) Alert lead faculty and/or program director to any student issues. This includes performance issues (e.g. failing grades, failing to turn in assignments, etc.) and policy violation issues (e.g. plagiarism).
7) Comply with all pertinent policies and procedures outlined in Abilene Christian University’s Handbook, Faculty Guidelines, and those specified by the program.
8) Other duties, as assigned and directed by lead faculty and/or program director.
B. Participate with the program faculty and in planning, development, implementation of program and curriculum.
1) Provide feedback to the program director for program and/or course improvement.
2) Attend/complete program and CHHS faculty trainings and provide credentialing/records updates (as needed).
3) Participate in program and faculty meetings (as able).

Physical Demands
A. Capacity to sit or stand stationary for a period of time.
B. Physical ability to use a computer or other electronic device.
C. Manage conversations in person, online and by telephone.
D. Work well under pressure and manage stress well
Qualifications Professional
1. Must hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited or internationally-recognized social work program.
2. Must have at least two (2) years’ post-MSSW practice experience if teaching practice courses. Licensure is highly preferred.
3. Must have practice or professional experience or general expertise in the content of the assigned course.
4. Minimum of two (2) years of university teaching is preferred. The ability to teach across the curriculum is expected. Online teaching experience preferred.
5. Proficient in APA style (formatting, citation requirements, punctuation, etc.).
6. Computer proficient in software and internet-based applications.

3. Collaborative nature, with the ability to build consensus.
4. Outstanding organizational and project management skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.

6. Capacity to quickly learn new software applications.
7. Willingness to receive additional training and/or faculty mentoring.
8. Ability to demonstrate good judgment and discretion when interacting with students, other faculty and staff.
