      SUMMARY:

      South University School of Pharmacy is seeking applications for an Adjunct faculty position in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. We are seeking an outstanding candidate to join a faculty team committed to academic excellence, scholarship, service, and student success. We are considering applicants that are clinical specialists in a specified therapeutic area or equivalent experience.

      The Pharmacy Practice adjunct faculty member reports to the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice. They contribute to an innovative curriculum, establish a clinical pharmacy practice for experiential education and patient care, perform scholarly activities, and serve on School/University/Professional committees.

      JOB ELEMENTS:

      1. Clinical Teaching: Under the direction of the Department Chair, develop a clinical practice site at an affiliated institution or community pharmacy for the experiential education of SOP students.
      2. Didactic Teaching : Contribute to the didactic teaching load of the Department, including the development or maintenance of course materials. The amount of teaching will be assigned annually by the Department Chair with consideration given to the faculty member’s clinical duties.
      3. Service : Active service on committees of the School or University, and service as a faculty student advisor, as assigned.
      4. Scholarship : Scholarly contributions to the discipline and profession. Scholarship goals are determined in consultation with the Department Chair considering clinical and didactic teaching load. Actively participate in events and activities of the School and University

      JOB REQUIREMENTS:

      • Pharm.D. degree from an ACPE Accredited School of Pharmacy /Institution.
      • Unrestricted license to practice Pharmacy in the State of Georgia, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date.
      • Postgraduate residency and/or fellowship training in a specified therapeutic area or equivalent experience preferred.
      • Prior teaching and research experience in relevant field preferred.
      • Experience with computerized administrative systems. Must be proficient with the use of standard office applications on personal computers
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations
      • Outstanding conflict resolution skills
      • Demonstrated time management and detail-oriented skills
      • Computer-based skills (i.e., software, analytical, and report writing skills)
      • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret accreditation criteria, state agency regulations, and academic journals.
      • Ability to resolve inquiries and complaints from employees, students, regulatory agencies, or members of the academic or Pharmacy Community
