Western Wyoming Community College (Western) invites applications for adjuncts for Vocal Music Instructor and Voice Lessons. This position will consist of teaching no more than 9 credits per Fall/Spring semesters and no more than 6 credits per Summer semester on the campuses of Rock Springs and Green River, or from a distance or online via the institution’s learning management system. Successful candidates will teach courses in the accredited undergraduate Musical Theatre Program as needed/assigned; may teach in a variety of environments and modes: team-taught offerings, day offerings, evening offerings, online offerings, hybrid offerings, etc.; assess students in light of the institution goals, program goals, and course objectives; develop good working relationships with discipline-related professionals in the College’s Service area; be active in one’s field of expertise; have the ability to lift and/or move up 25 pounds on a regular basis.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR WHICH THIS INDIVIDUAL IS ACCOUNTABLE

1. Provides quality instruction to students in assigned courses, including, but not limited to the following: Applied voice lessons or other courses suited to the candidate’s strengths.

3. Sets rehearsal and performance schedules.

4. Prepares students for, and participates in, semesterly convocation and final jury examinations for every student in applied lessons. Serves on jury panels as needed.

5. Provides quality-learning experiences for all students in accordance with their needs and abilities while maintaining the basic integrity of the course’s standards and objectives.

6. States clear objectives and criteria in each course syllabus; follows the Curriculum Committee’s guidelines regarding course syllabi; integrates appropriate Western Goals for Student Success into each course; evaluates students’ performance in light of these objectives and criteria.

8. Designs and implements effective learning processes for students; provides feedback on student improvement in attaining the College’s Learning Goals.

9. Learns to communicate clearly and effectively using the college network system, including the e-mail and calendar system, MyWestern, Canvas, and word processing; integrates learning with technology into the classroom as appropriate.

10. Orders the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date.

11. Refers students to the resources in the College Learning Center, Peer Tutor Center, Net Tutor, Library, Mustang Success, and Wellness and Accessibility.

12. Maintains an inventory of all assigned equipment and supplies in assigned areas; takes prudent efforts to safeguard Western physical resources from unauthorized use. Maintains safe working conditions and practices.

13. Submits syllabi, student evaluations, grades, and other required information in a timely manner

14. Completion of required workshops, course assessment, and evaluations as approved by School Chair
