      An online instructor’s position is through the eLearning district office, serving the instructional needs of the District. Instructors are to teach assigned classes according to the overall goals and objectives of the department. Additional responsibilities of the instructor would include submitting all necessary paper work to assure proper documentation of student attendance, and evaluation.

      GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

      An online instructor’s position is through the eLearning district office, serving the instructional needs of the District. Instructors are to teach assigned classes according to the overall goals and objectives of the department. Additional responsibilities of the instructor would include submitting all necessary paper work to assure proper documentation of student attendance, and evaluation.

      QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

      EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

      Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.

      Implements the specific aims of the College and Department by

      1. Maintain current credentials as required in respective field.

      2. Successfully complete New Online Instructor Training.

      3. Attend meetings as required by Dean of eLearning or department chairs, to include continued professional development and trainings.

      4. Utilize the college email system and messaging systems through the learning management system for communication with students and staff. Adhere to the 48-hour policy regarding communication during an instructional period

      5. Use teaching techniques that include the effective utilization of resources that motivate students to achieve their potential, specifically the required use of the college’s learning management system.

      6. Provide necessary information for students. This information would include standardized syllabi information.

      7. Submit necessary instructional information in a timely manner, to include reporting no shows, attendance/grade reports, audit verifications, course/instructor evaluations, etc.

      8. Adhere to the calendar for online courses

      9. Participate in student/teacher and faculty/administrator evaluations and performance review conferences.

      10. Develop personal and professional improvement plans in those areas deemed necessary as a result of evaluations.

      11. Include effectiveness measures in teaching and report data as directed; coordinate and implement measures as directed by department to respond to information from student learning outcomes/institutional effectiveness results

      12. Utilize appropriate processes for the use of proctored testing in online courses

      13. Maintain general knowledge about the college’s operating procedures to assist students in navigating college requirements.
