- Teach assigned general chemistry laboratory sections according to the established curriculum and schedule.
- Prepare for labs, including setting up equipment, ensuring necessary reagents are available, and understanding the experimental procedures thoroughly.
- Provide clear and concise instructions and demonstrations for laboratory experiments.
- Supervise students safely and effectively during laboratory sessions, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and proper use of laboratory equipment.
- Grade lab reports, quizzes, and other assignments in a timely manner, providing constructive feedback to students.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and grades.
- Communicate regularly with the lead instructor for the general chemistry course regarding student progress, concerns, and lab-related issues.
- Be available for student consultations to provide support and answer questions.
- Promote an environment of academic integrity and professional conduct within the laboratory setting.
- Adhere to all university policies and procedures.
- Master's degree in chemistry or a closely related field from an accredited institution. A Ph.D. is preferred.
- Previous experience teaching general chemistry labs at the college level is highly preferred. Practical laboratory experience in a professional or research setting is a plus.
- A demonstrated personal commitment to the Christian faith and the ability to articulate how this commitment aligns with the mission and values of MNU. Candidates should be willing to integrate faith perspectives into their teaching where appropriate.
- Thorough understanding of general chemistry principles and laboratory techniques.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to effectively manage a laboratory classroom and ensure student safety.
- Proficiency in using common laboratory equipment and instruments.
- A passion for teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.

Job Summary: MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU), located in Olathe Kansas, invites applications for a qualified Adjunct Professor of Chemistry to teach general chemistry laboratory sections.
