      Job summary

      This vacancy provides an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to work in a busy appointments department and be part of the much larger department which is AHP Central Admin.

      Applicants are invited for Admin Assistant/Receptionist to provide support to the Adult Allied Health Professionals Central Appointment Service delivering on appointment booking and referral management.

      Main duties of the job

      Post holder will be expected to contribute to housekeeping and other office duties as required e.g scanning, printing, photocopying etc.

      Post holder will be expected to book a high volume of appointments in a timely manner via Liberty phone system.

      The post holder will provide a comprehensive, efficient admin service for the Adult AHP clinical teams

      To provide a high standard of support to Clinical staff.

      To use an electronic referral process (SystmOne) to ensure requests are responded to in a professional, confidential and efficient manner.

      To receive and respond to requests from patients and carers, acute hospitals, GP practices, Social Services and health care agencies.

      To communicate directly with members of the public and other services.

      To abide by Trust policies and procedures

      To deal with incoming and outgoing patients and carers

      We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
