- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Thorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and / or personnel management.
- Interpersonal skills including excellent verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills, and the ability to prepare and administer oral/written presentations
- Solid knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.
- Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service.
- Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, website design, accounting, purchasing
- Experience working independently with minimal supervision and supporting large teams.
- Experience in successfully completing multi-task projects on time in a high-pressure environment.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, etc.) and other administrative software programs.
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
- 3+ years of relevant progressive experience in system management, technical support, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and experience with content management systems (Drupal preferred)
- Familiarity with Citrix, ServiceNow, and integration with databases and other systems.
- General knowledge or experience in Food Service operations
- Experience working in a large health care setting
Job Summary
The Department of Nutrition & Food Services has units at several campuses including Parnassus, Mount Zion, Mission Bay, St. Francis, and St. Mary’s. This position, coordinates, advises, and provides information and project management support to department personnel. Responsibilities include primary support for the Director of Nutrition & Food Services, management of the Event Management System (EMS) Room Scheduling system infrastructure, expansion and projects and oversight of the departmentally contracted Cvent Event Management tool. Operational support for Moffitt Catering, and other areas as directed by Director.
This person uses skills as a seasoned and experienced administrative professional to manage, plan, and administer tasks within Nutrition & Food Services related to operations and other miscellaneous support related department initiatives. This position coordinates processes and projects in conjunction with other campuses. This position has indirect relationships supporting projects and initiatives with department Managers, Supervisors, Associate Directors, Business Office Manager.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $75,700 - $123,100 (Annual Rate).

Department Description
The UCSF Health Department of Nutrition and Food Services is a high performing and nationally recognized food and nutrition service operation. The department is comprised of three divisions: food service (room service style patient food service, retail food operations including cafes, quick service coffee outlets, a large-scale catering program with conference services, with supporting entities of culinary services, food procurement services, and a business office), retail services (gift and specialty shops), and nutrition services (inpatient and outpatient nutrition services for adults and pediatrics and a dietetic internship). The entities are primarily based at the three UCSF Health hospital campuses but also at clinics throughout the Bay Area. The total department has 360 FTE with an overall operating budget of $54M.
