Job Description

- Complete special projects and other administrative responsibilities requiring discretion, independent judgement and a high degree of customer services.
- Position requires a high level of autonomy, including critical thinking skills, planning, organizing and monitoring daily activities.
- Assist with ELMs training with new employees
- Assist in maintaining department website and department Respiratory Care intranet as needed
- Collaborate with the Admin Services Specialist in prepping/coordinating for our department sponsored seminar
- Assist in developing data collection and extrapolate analysis as requested by director/managers/supervisors regarding staffing needs and audits
- Perform special duties as assigned by Admin Services Specialist
- Assist Specialized Care Coordinator with inventory/supply management and other assigned duties
- Assist with personnel and education file maintenance as assigned by Admin Services Specialist
- Assist with on-boarding new employees within the department as assigned
- Provide backup coverage for ELMS/payroll review and scheduling for department
- Assists with verifying incoming products/supplies within the department
- Assist with validation and patient charge entry in EPIC

- Evaluate requests and exercise discretion and judgment in providing confidential information to appropriate parties.
- Submit HCIS requisitions for staff access
- Perform functions ensuring a high level of customer service, including communication and organizational skills.
- Submits Engineering Services request for Department of Respiratory Care
- Responds to staff requests for assistance with troubleshooting of SharePoint intranet, intranet access, HCIS requests/tickets, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Some (6 months – 1 year) administrative, office coordination or IT background.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous experience utilizing Enterprise Labor Management (ELM’s) scheduling system and payroll.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Role models service excellence.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Knowledge of University of Iowa policies/procedures.
- Ability to analyze data and critical thinking skills.
- Previous experience working in a health care setting
- Previous experience working with service excellence /customer focused environment.

Respiratory Care is seeking a part-time (50%) Admin Services Coordinator to provide administrative support. This position supports the day-to-day operations of the department including both Diagnostic and Clinical divisions. This position is specified term for one year with the possibility of extension depending upon available funding and department resources.
