    • To maintain appropriate inventory of supplies and order as necessary or upon request.

    • To coordinate/cooperate with others to assure the smooth operation of the office and its activities.

    • To respond to requests for information and assistance.

    • To use computers and other office machines to accurately input, retrieve and manipulate data to generate and transmit reports and correspondence.

    • To prepare and disseminate routine correspondence.

    • To confer with supervisors regarding progress, concerns and recommendations.

      POSITION: Administrative and Guidance Specialist ~ Butler County Juvenile Justice Center Programs

      GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Administrative and Guidance Specialist will contribute to the efficient clerical operation and academic guidance for the alternative educational program located at the Butler County Juvenile Detention Center/Juvenile Rehabilitation Center in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of the district.

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      • High school diploma or equivalent.

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

      Knowledge of: Board policies and procedures; building policies and procedures, secretarial techniques and procedures, public relations.

      Ability to: Interpret policies and procedures; define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; follow instructions; communicate effectively; maintain files and reports; collect data; schedule; lift moderate amounts of weight; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Work successfully in a culturally diverse environment.

      Skill in: Basic math, English and communications, and use of computer, copier, telephone system, printers, fax, typewriter and calculator.

      ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

      Occasional: Exposure to irritating chemicals, fumes

      TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

      Salary and work year as established by the Governing Board. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non - prescribed controlled substance use in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.

      Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.
