Job Description
- Req#: 168289
- Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition/Dietetics required
- Completion of an accredited dietetic internship recognized by the Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice required
- Licensure by Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists required
- Minimum one (1) year of recent related experience preferred
- Computer literate and working knowledge application of food service system software
- Good communication skills, both written and oral
- Working knowledge of daily menu planning
- Past experience working as a dietitian, dietetic technician, food service supervisor and menu aide is valuable
- Ability to work independently, or in a group
- Understand and interpret clinical standards into patient menus
- Menu planning experience and knowledge
- Good understanding of inventory control systems and purchasing practices. Working knowledge of HACCP guidelines
- Mentor/train end users, interns and students

About the Opportunity
The Administrative Dietitian is a Registered Dietitian, responsible for the establishment, implementation and accurate maintenance of an integrated provincial Nutrition and Food Services (NFS) software program (food retail, menu management, food production, food service processes and clinical nutrition). As a member of the NFS team, the Administrative Dietitian works autonomously and collaboratively within the healthcare setting, ensuring the delivery of customer focused quality care.
The Administrative Dietitian acts as a liaison between the IM/IT department, NFS teams and other ancillary departments as appropriate. The Administrative Dietitian develops, educates, and implements standards of practice and processes related to the nutrition software program. The Administrative Dietitian plays an integral part in evaluating how the software meets ongoing NFS operational needs and tracks reports, and information related to the software.
This role is key in providing reliable feedback to leadership related to departmental operations to ensure continuous quality improvement and sound fiscal decisions.

$32.95 - $43.43 Hourly
