This position is based at our headquarters office in Tigard, Oregon, however, the successful candidate is be eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified applicants to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.

Preference may be given to candidates with current or previous PERS experience.

The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect the additional 6.95%.

The Public Employees Retirement System is recruiting for one (1) Administrative Specialist 2 (AS2) (Hybrid Work) position within the Central Administration Division, Modernization Program.
This is a full-time, limited duration position for a long-term project, expected to last through June 30, 2025; however, the agency has requested continued funding into future biennia. If future funding is secured, the appointment may be extended.
We serve the people of Oregon by administering public employee benefit trusts to pay the right person, the right benefit, at the right time.
Central Administration Division / Modernization Program
This position will reside in the Modernization Program section within the Central Administration Division. The Central Administration Division provides leadership and support services necessary to achieve the agency's key goals in support of the mission, vision, core values and operating principles. Services are provided to all departments throughout the enterprise. The division is recognized as the center of excellence in developing solutions for and implementing, critical agency decisions.
Administrative Specialist 2
The PERS Modernization Program is a multi-biennia initiative made up of complex projects with far reaching impact. The Administrative Specialist 2 will join a team with diverse skillsets and responsibilities that will implement this program. This is a critical position that will ensure the team establishes administrative practices that enable effective and efficient program operations. This position will also provide valuable support to key decision-makers through targeted research and reporting activities. Communications with a wide variety of stakeholders, including PERS employers and beneficiaries, vendors and consultants, and other state agencies and retirement programs are an important type of support that this position will provide.

What Are We Looking For?
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis;
OR
An associate degree in general office occupations and two years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis;
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
