      The Prince William County Police Department is seeking a talented, customer-service oriented individual to provide day-to-day administrative support in the Police Records Bureau. As an Administrative Technician, this is your opportunity to showcase your administrative, customer service, Microsoft Office, communication and cash handling skills, while gaining experience in a public service-oriented environment.

      About This Role:
      PWC Police Records Administrative Technician is responsible for processing critical administrative tasks and projects supporting the Police Department and Community Members. This position consists of learning and executing critical, confidential Records related procedures and processes that serve internal Units and external Agencies. You will be able to work effectively in a large team as well as independently. In this role you will perform financial transactions on a cash register.

      In this role you will be trained on every aspect of processing the following:
      • Police records, including the front desk
      • Police incident reports in compliance with NIBRS
      • Crash and incident report requests
      • Processing arrests
      • Executing Court ordered expungements

      Minimum Requirements:
      High school diploma/GED

      Preferences:
      Experience with Motorola P1 RMS System, knowledge of NIBRS, VCIN certification is preferred.

      You must:
      • Be skilled in Microsoft Office, Teams, Outlook, and data entry
      • Have cash handling experience
      • Have the ability to analyze data to execute relative procedures
      • Have the ability to serve the public face-to-face, as well as via phone and email with excellent customer service and verbal and written communication skills
      Administrative Technicians must have the ability to:
      • Provide excellent customer service and partnering skills
      • Provide organizational skills
      • Provide attention to detail
      • Process complex procedures accurately
      • Understand certain related State records retention statutes
      • Serve community members at a public facing Front Desk counter

      Special Requirements:
      You will be assigned within the Records division where needed, depending on priorities and workloads of the Department. you must be able to pass a VCIN examination if not already certified. You must be able to pass a police background check.

      Work Schedule:
      Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00pm, in the office.

      Starting Salary Range:
      $27.35 - $32.17
