- Triaging, scanning, coding and clinical letters in line with practice protocols.
- Accurately summarising and coding relevant information into patients electronic healthcare records.
- Completing new patient registrations and dealing with registration queries.
- Completing referrals sent by the clinical team, in order of urgency, ensuring that where appropriate, the correct service is chosen in the NHS e-Referral Service (e-RS) and blood results or any other require information are sent with the referral.
- Managing queries from patients regarding referrals.
- Processing death notifications and completing medical examiner/coroner referrals in line with practice protocols.
- Undertaking routine tasks sent by clinical team members.
- Supporting the reception team when required.
- Taking the post to the Post Office at the end of every day.
- Supporting the completion of any private work that comes into the practice from either patients or external organisations (e.g. insurance companies).
- Providing support and advice to trainee GPs, locums and regular GPs regarding referral pathways.
- Building relationships with GPs, Locums, Nurses and other clinical and non-clinical practice staff, and providing any other administrative support as required, in line with the needs of the practice.
- Maintaining a clean and tidy working area at all times.
