      WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

      La Joya ISD is seeking a detail-oriented and family-focused individual to serve as an Admissions and Enrollment Specialist. This position plays a key role in ensuring a smooth and welcoming enrollment experience for new and returning families. Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Admissions and Records, the Admissions and Enrollment Specialist supports registration, processes enrollment and transfer documentation, and assists in family recruitment efforts.

      The ideal candidate will:

      • Guide families through the enrollment and registration process, ensuring accuracy and compliance
      • Process student documentation, including intra-district and inter-district transfer requests
      • Collaborate with school staff and central office departments to resolve enrollment-related issues
      • Promote district enrollment opportunities to prospective families
      • Maintain accurate and organized records to support compliance and reporting

      QUALIFICATIONS

      Education/Certification:

      • High school diploma or GED required
      • Associate degree or college coursework in education, business, or related field preferred
      • Valid Texas driver’s license

      Experience:

      • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a school, customer service, or clerical setting
      • Experience with student records, registration systems, or data entry preferred
      • Demonstrated ability to support diverse, multilingual families is a plus

      Special Knowledge and Skills

      • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
      • Ability to work with sensitive student information and maintain confidentiality
      • Knowledge of school district enrollment policies and procedures
      • Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office and student information systems (e.g., Skyward)

      MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

      Family Enrollment Support:

      • Assist families in completing enrollment, registration, and transfer applications
      • Review submitted documents for accuracy, completeness, and eligibility
      • Provide clear and courteous communication in person, by phone, and electronically
      • Guide families in understanding district policies and school options

      Records Processing and Documentation:

      • Process and track intra-district and inter-district transfer requests
      • Enter student information into the district’s student information system
      • Maintain organized digital and physical files for all enrollment and transfer documents
      • Support compliance with state and district regulations regarding student admission

      Collaboration and Customer Service:

      • Serve as a liaison between families, campuses, and central office teams to resolve enrollment-related questions or challenges
      • Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from parents and guardians
      • Coordinate with the Coordinator of Admissions and Records to ensure consistency in enrollment practices across the district

      Outreach and Recruitment:

      • Participate in family recruitment events, such as open houses and community fairs
      • Distribute enrollment materials and help promote La Joya ISD programs and services
      • Assist in identifying barriers to enrollment and support solutions that increase access and equity

      Data and Reporting Support:

      • Support the maintenance of accurate enrollment data for reporting and state compliance
      • Prepare summaries and updates as requested by the Coordinator of Admissions and Records
      • Contribute to efforts that monitor enrollment trends and support district planning

      • Occasional lifting and carrying (under 20 pounds)
      • Prolonged use of computer and frequent walking during campus visits
      • Occasional extended hours including evenings and weekends

      Work Environment:

      • District central office with frequent travel to campuses and community sites
      • Regular interaction with students, families, district administrators, and external agencies
      • Occasional exposure to difficult or emotional situations involving student/family crises

      POSITION WORKING DAYS
      226 day contract
