      Position Summary

      The Admissions & Recruitment Specialist is responsible for building a strong pool of prospects and applicants through active recruiting and the maintenance of local, national and international contacts, and has significant impact on the recruitment and composition of the incoming graduate cohorts.

      Job Description

      Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

      • Manages recruitment for SPH graduate programs to seek top applicants using a multi-channel approach that includes meeting and recruiting students in a variety of venues both in-person and virtually (e.g., college and career fairs, campus/classroom visits, office appointments/walk-ins, information sessions, and conferences) and promoting the School. Role has significant impact on the recruitment and composition of the incoming graduate cohorts. This position will have a far-reaching impact on the perception of school and Washington University by prospective employers, future prospective students, and competing academic institutions.
      • Collaborates with leadership to develop and execute a recruitment plan to support the University’s strategic plan.
      • Represents the university at recruitment functions including graduate fairs; travel will include evening and weekend commitments, concentrated in the fall and early spring.
      • Represents the University and advises prospective students, communicating the distinctive aspects of the university, along with an in-depth knowledge of the university's mission and academic programs throughout the recruitment process.
      • Serves as a member of the Admissions Review Committee on determining admission to the school. Reviews applications for admissions and scholarships. The position will work in conjunction with others to analyze transcripts for program required courses and advance standing transferrable credits and significantly contributes to the admissions decision for candidates, financial aid and scholarships. The specialist will be responsible for actively following-up and corresponding with prospective students and applicants by email, mail, phone or face-to-face appointments to answer questions about the admissions process, program, policies, and School.
      • Partners with the communication team to develop and implement a communication plan for prospective/admitted students.
      • Serves as a liaison to connect prospective students with key university resources.
      • Prepares reports on recruitment and yield activities; analyzes and interprets statistics and data to help predict achievement of short and long-term enrollment goals.
      • Develops outreach and relationships with UG admissions and other WashU schools to recruit students.
      • Assists Director with management of both CRM and SIS systems.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.

      $49,700.00 - $82,100.00 / Annually

      The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
