- Req#: 11519313
- Diploma or higher in Business or Public Administration, Social Sciences, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum two (2) years experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations and/or policies in order to make decisions/recommendations, and involving the use of judgement, critical thinking and discretion.
- Minimum two (2) years experience gathering evidentiary information.
- Experience in an application-based grant program.
The Team
The Employer Training Unit Team is a collaborative and supportive group within the Labour Market Development division. Comprising six adjudicators and two financial clerks, the team is dedicated to funding training opportunities across B.C. to help employers train new or current employees. The team works closely with senior policy and program managers, quality assurance analysts, and the program director, ensuring a cohesive and impactful approach to skills training.
The Role
In this role, you'll review and analyze technical information to determine eligibility for funding under the Employer Training Grant (ETG) program. You'll communicate with BC employers and training providers to verify details, consult with management and peers for advice, and prepare detailed summaries to justify your decisions. Your work helps provide financial support for employers to train their employees, impacting both the community and the province by enabling skills development that might otherwise be out of reach.
