      The Early Childhood Educator Registry (Registry) is the legislated authority responsible for the certification of Early Childhood Educators (ECE) and ECE Assistants, the investigation of complaints regarding the competence and conduct of ECEs and ECE Assistants and the assessment and recommended approval of post-secondary early childhood education programs in British Columbia (BC).

      The ECE Registry Policy Analyst is responsible to research, develop, and write, new operational policies, procedures, and processes. This includes the development of new policy for international, domestic labour mobility, and provincial certification processes, post-secondary training policy to support monitoring and recognition of post-secondary institutions and other ECE Registry business areas as identified.

      Job Requirements:
      • Diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related field such as Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Education, Social/Health Services, AND 1 year *related experience; OR
      • Certificate in Early Childhood Education or a related field such as Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Education, Social/Health Services, AND 2 years *related experience; OR
      • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and *related experience may be considered.


      *Related experience must include:
      • Experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis.
      • Experience managing projects and/or project components.
      • Working in a regulatory environment, applying legislation and regulations, developing and reviewing operational policies, procedures and practice tools.
      • Researching and analyzing program performance.
      • Establishing collaborative relationships with all levels of staff, including senior management, and external stakeholders.


      Preference may be given to applicants with:

      Experience working with data in MS Excel to inform program policy decisions.
      • Additional years of experience in any of the above job requirements.
      • A Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
      • British Columbia Early Childhood Educator certification.
      • Formal training in policy and procedure development and analysis or administrative law.
      • Experience developing, implementing and evaluating staff orientation and training programs.
      • Experience working in a licensed child care facility and/or in the early care and learning sector.
