- Master’s Degree or higher in business administration, law, public administration, natural resources or equivalent and 6 months of related experience*; or
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, law, public administration, natural resources or equivalent and 1 year of related experience*; or
- A Diploma in business administration, law, public administration, natural resources or equivalent and 2 years of related experience*; or
- A Certificate or coursework in business administration, law, public administration, natural resources or equivalent and 3 years of related experience*.
- Experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis.
- Experience managing projects and/or project components (e.g., developing proposals and analyses, developing plans and deliverables, making recommendations, assigning work).
- Minimum one (1) year experience planning and coordinating projects and/or project components
- Minimum one (1) year experience concisely and persuasively writing a range of documents/content.
- Experience analyzing and/or developing legislation, regulation, and policy.
- More than one (1) year of experience planning and coordinating projects and/or project components.
- More than one (1) year of experience concisely and persuasively writing a range of documents/content.
- Experience supporting engagements and/or consultation with diverse partners, including Indigenous partners, and cross ministry representatives and external organizations.
Bring Your Expertise To This Exciting Position
The Permitting Transformation Division (PTD) is responsible for working across the Natural Resource Ministries (NRMs), the Environmental Assessment Office (EAO), the BC Energy Regulator (BCER) and other crown agencies, other ministries and levels of government as needed to establish greater certainty, transparency, and clarity in the permitting process while reducing the overall volume of applications moving through the system. PTD is responsible for land, water, and fish & wildlife authorizations on behalf of the ministry, and supports critical priority government projects, including Electrification, Housing, and Connectivity.
The Strategic Permitting Solutions team is leading the Natural Resource Ministries through transformational change that will see the efficient and effective delivery of permitting and authorizations services to achieve government’s goals of economic activity and environmental sustainability that must be considered in tandem with government’s commitment to reconciliation.
